Top Tier’s Holiday Shopping Guide 2015

The team at Top Tier knows how stressful the holidays can be, especially hunting for that perfect gift. To ease your holiday season grief, we have handpicked a few of our favorite products from different retail categories including entertainment, fashion, creative, food, health, fashion and, of course, toys. For the entertainment junkie on your list, check out the above items. Normal Ears provides ear buds that mold to your ear on the first use, providing a snug custom fit; Oculus has begun selling the Samsung Gear VR system, the first consumer facing virtual reality system; and Clearview Audio has released its nearly invisible speaker, the ‘Clio’.

A common trend throughout this year’s gift guide is custom, and it is no more apparent than in the fashion category. Indochino is a great option for men’s custom suits that won’t break the bank. For the creative type, we have two very different camera products in our portfolio that we think are very cool.   Lytro makes a line of cameras that are based on light field technology, allowing the photographer to make changes to the photos after the photo has been taken. Narrative, on the other hand, is a clip-on camera that periodically takes photos or videos of what the wearer is seeing, creating daily albums. The food category is all about delivery. Beautiful is a delivery service focused on providing freshly prepared organic meals, and will soon be offering a personal chef service. Club W is focused on providing a curated selection of wine based on the drinker’s palate and meal pairings. Naturebox’s delivery of organic dried fruits, nuts, and chips provides the perfect snack for a household or office.

Technology has made its way into the health and fitness markets in a big way, focusing in on the ‘quantified self’ movement. Both Fitbit and Lumo help the user track their progress against their fitness targets, while 23andMe is a home genome sequencing kit, helping users understand what their DNA says about their health, traits and ancestry.

Of course, what would holiday shopping be without toys – whether for your children, nieces, nephews or for that all important toy donation drive going on this time of year.
